Composition and lyrics

In the song, will.i.am is trying to get a girl through text messages.The marking XOXO is an ancient sign of affection, the "X" means "hugs" and "O" means "kisses".In an interview with Spin magazine, will.i.am. said he wanted to do something totally different than I Gotta Feeling 'in relation to the vocals. Synopsis
